Housing

Klostergarden Student House

Klostergarden studio apartment comes with your own bathroom and kitchenette (induction stove top, oven, fridge). Rental costs about 4,000SEK+ a month. The entire block generally houses a range of internationals from different countries. There are probably fewer opportunities for you to interact with the other internationl students unless you attend the occasional parties in their rooms (or you can host one).

Klostergarden one-bedroom apartment has a larger space but slightly cheaper rental costs per person. There is a common living room area, balcony and a kitchen. It is, however, a little older and a bit more run down than the studio apartments. It might be a better option if you would like to interact with the other students, and there are barbecue pits available so you can organise cook-outs and gatherings. There is also a small basketball 1/4 court nearby and a little soccer court of sorts.

Amenities Nearby

There are two supermarkets (NETTO and COOP Konsum), a bakery, a pharmacy, and a pizzeria less than 5min away. There is also a small park behind. Or if you prefer a bigger park, Stadsparken is about 1km from here. The bus stop is just across the road and there is only one bus (no. 1) in one direction, but it will take you almost everywhere in Lund as it goes a huge loop to the city centre and the university campus.

Ostra Torn (Studio Apartment or Shared Apartment)

Ostra Torn studio apartment comes with your own bathroom and kitchen (induction stove top, fridge and oven). Unlike usual studio apartments, your room is separated from the kitchen area which gives you more privacy when you invite your friends over and it prevents your room from smelling from the cooking. Rental costs about 4,000SEK+ a month.  The entire block generally houses a range of internationals from different countries.

Ostra Torn shared apartment is a 2-room apartment with a shared bathroom, living room and kitchen (induction stove top, fridge and oven). The size of the room and bathroom is the same as the those in the Ostra Torn studio apartments. The shared living room is spacious and comes with a sofa. Rental costs about 3,000SEK+ a month.

The blocks are located in a square which surrounds a green space in the middle of the blocks. Here, international students will often congregate by holding BBQs or friendly soccer sessions. This is the best way to make international friends!

Linero

Corridor room with shared toilet, bathroom and kitchen. But this is more like a huge house than a hostel with corridor rooms. There are 10 rooms in total, with a huge common area well-furnished with a sofa, communal dining table, studying tables and even a pool table. The kitchen is also well-equipped, and there are 2 shared bathrooms and 2 shared toilets - despite sharing it with 9 other people, everyone uses the toilets at different times so you hardly have to wait to use it. Very comfortable and homely, with duvets, pillows and heaters included. The common area can easily accommodate up to 150 people when holding parties, and the rental costs range from 2,800SEK to 3,500SEK per month, depending on the size of the rooms. This houses international exchange students, so interaction with others is maximum unless you prefer to have privacy in your room. Oh, and living in a decommissioned church makes everything much cooler!
